What Is a Medicare Wellness Visit?
If you have Medicare, you’re eligible for an annual Wellness Visit. This visit is designed to help you and your provider identify health risks early and create a plan to stay healthy.
This is not a traditional physical exam—it’s focused on prevention and long-term wellness.
What to Expect at Your Visit
During your appointment, your care team will:
- Review your health history and current needs
- Ask questions about your overall health and lifestyle
- Check basics like: blood pressure, weight, and vision
- Discuss: risk of falls, mental health, and preventive screenings (mammograms, colon cancer screening, etc.)
- Provide: referrals to specialists (if needed) and lab orders or diagnostic testing
- Create a personalized prevention plan just for you
What This Visit Is Not
To avoid confusion, this visit does not include:
- A full head-to-toe physical
- Treatment of ongoing or chronic conditions
- Prescription refills
New to NOAH?
If this is your first visit with us, we recommend scheduling a primary care appointment first so we can get to know you and your health history.
Stay on Track with Your Health
Medicare covers this visit once every year—and it’s one of the best ways to stay proactive about your health.
