Getting to know your provider
Why did you choose your profession?
My love for medicine stemmed from my childhood. I was prone to illnesses and accidents that led me to days or weeks in the hospital. The hospital became my second home. I never feared this setting due to the care I received from providers and the healthcare team. Through these experiences, I have always known that I would choose a career where I would be able to medically treat and care for those who need it most.
I discovered the PA profession through attending networking events with other students interested in medicine and it was then when I was introduced to the profession. The PA profession allows me to practice medicine and treat every person as a valued human-being, like those who treated me in the past.
How do you feel psychiatry fits into the NOAH integrated care model?
Integrating psychiatry into NOAH integrated care model will yield better healthcare outcomes. Mental health care is needed at all integrated care models. Having this service would allow better management of mental health disorders.
What are your passions outside of your profession?
One of my current passion is ninja warrior training. I am a member of Hitsquad Ninja Gym in Tempe, Arizona. The gym mirrors obstacles seen on the American Ninja Warrior, the TV show. Moreover, I have been an avid indoor and outdoor rock climber for a couple of years. I consider myself a big foodie and continue to travel to new places just to eat!
If you won the lottery tomorrow, what would you do?
I would pay off my student debt and use the remaining $10 on gas.
