I have a passion for science and research, and have always been curious about how things work, particularly diseases. I was on the path to become a PhD, and worked as an undergrad in a lab at San Diego State University, then subsequently for a research and development biosciences company in San Diego. As interesting as those experiences were, I realized that I wanted to approach fighting disease in a different way; by direct interaction with the people who have them instead of working with test tubes all day. Besides, test tubes are very poor conversationalists!

Spending time with family/friends; being a pet-parent; nature walks/yoga; hobbies include needle crafts and reading.

Live part-time in other states to be closer to family.
