Getting to know your provider
Why did you choose your profession?
Ultimately, I have a passion for making a difference in people’s lives. I want to give back the gifts that have been given to me.
Why do you work at NOAH?
What I love about NOAH is the integrated approach to mental health; the collaboration with primary care, psychiatric and additional medical teams is crucial in providing quality care to our patients. Also, being involved in the community is imperative to not only the success of the organization, but the satisfaction of the clients. The focus on employee self-care through paid time off, supervision, and team-work shows NOAH cares about the personal and professional growth of every individual who works within their program.
What are your passions outside of your profession?
I’ve been focusing on spirituality and grounding techniques through yoga, sound baths, and learning meditation skills. This has helped me to improve my nervous system through self-regulation, learning how to connect mind to body. I also love spending time with my family and two golden doodles. My personal weekend therapeutic tools usually involve cooking and baking.
If you won the lottery tomorrow, what would you do?
If I won the lottery, I’d buy a ranch with a good chunk of land to get back to my childhood roots of living in the country. I’d have some cows, horses, and chickens running around. A garden to tend to; a big porch where I could sit and read with a big cozy blanket and some hot coffee. It would be quiet and peaceful there for the day to day living. (Good grief, does this make me sound old?! LOL)
We would do some world traveling. Make sure our kids were set up as they all venture into young adulthood. Donate to a mental health organization or create a new one in honor of my father who suffered so greatly. So many possibilities, I suppose. For now, I am grateful to just live in the present.
