There are times when you need a little something sweet to satisfy those taste buds of yours, but you may not want the added sugars that leave you feeling run down. Seasonal fruit sorbets have become a favorite quick treat for our family, especially during the warmer months.

Yields1 Serving
Prep Time15 minsCook Time2 hrs 40 minsTotal Time2 hrs 55 mins
 2 cups mixed berries
 2 medium ripe bananassliced
 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 tbsp honeyoptional for those that like a sweeter flavor
1

Slice bananas and strawberries.

2

Place all fruit on a plate or cookie sheet and place in the freezer for 1-2 hours to chill.

3

Once fruit is frozen, place in food processor or blender in batches (split in half). Add half of the lemon juice to each batch and process until smooth – scrape down the sides when you need to.

4

The sorbet will have a soft serve texture. If you like it firmer, scoop contents into a bowl and freeze for 20 minutes or so to firm up.

5

NOTES: When our fresh fruits are starting to over-ripen, I’ll chop them up and place in a Ziploc bag and store in the freezer, making this dessert even faster to make.
