At NOAH (Neighborhood Outreach Access to Health), we are dedicated to providing comprehensive, high-quality healthcare services to underserved populations across our community. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we believe that everyone deserves access to affordable, culturally competent healthcare, regardless of their socioeconomic status or background.

Overview
The majority of our patients, approximately 89%, fall into the low-income category, facing financial challenges that often limit their access to healthcare. Additionally, 56% of our patient population identifies as ethnic or racial minorities, reflecting the cultural diversity of the communities we serve. Furthermore, approximately 20% of our patients require services in a language other than English, highlighting the importance of providing linguistically appropriate care to meet their healthcare needs. This demographic profile underscores the critical role NOAH plays in addressing disparities in healthcare access and outcomes among underserved populations.

Time Commitment
Board of Director terms are for a period of three years. The Board meets monthly. Subcommittee meetings are intermittently, varying from monthly to quarterly, depending on the committee. The average time commitment is 3 hours per month, including reviewing monthly Board Reports, minutes, and policies as they arise.

What is the Board Application Process
The board application process with NOAH begins with filling out an inquiry form online. Once submitted, a NOAH staff member will reach out to schedule a phone call introduction with NOAH leadership, allowing both parties to get acquainted and discuss expectations. Following this, applicants are invited to tour one of NOAH’s health centers, providing firsthand insight into the organization’s operations and impact. Finally, the applicant’s submission is presented to the NOAH Board Nomination Committee for consideration, where qualifications and alignment with NOAH’s mission are carefully evaluated. This thorough process ensures that each board member is well-suited to contribute effectively to NOAH’s vision and goals.
