Frequently Asked Questions
What is typical of a nutritional services visit?
When a patient is referred for nutrition services they will be scheduled for an initial 30 minute appointment to establish care. If needed, an additional 30 minute follow up appointment will be scheduled. During the visit the dietitian will conduct a nutritional assessment (collecting, integrating, and analyzing nutrition related data), nutrition education and goal setting. At follow up visits, weight will be assessed and previous goals will be reviewed and revised as the patient progresses.

Patients who benefit from our services include those with the following:
- obesity

Patients may schedule a nutrition appointment directly or request a referral from their primary care provider depending on insurance. AHCCCS plans allow direct scheduling while most commercial insurance plans require a referral.
